New supreme award trophy

New supreme award trophy

A brand new Supreme Award trophy will be bestowed at this year’s Pride In Print Awards Night on Friday May 23 at Auckland’s Sky City.

Pride In Print manager Sue Archibald says the design, which is currently being finalised by experienced Wellington-based creative firm Anderson Design, will be only the third incarnation of the Supreme Award.

“We have deliberately changed the design each decade so as to ensure there will only ever be ten of each trophy in existence,” says Ms Archibald.

With the deadline for late entries to this year’s Awards set to close at 5pm this Friday (February 28), Ms Archibald is hopeful all producers of printing excellence in New Zealand will have taken their opportunity to partake.

“Entry levels look good -- and are up on last year’s numbers -- and being the first Awards Night with the new design, the Supreme Award will be a first-win opportunity.

“Service Printers is to date the only firm that has won each of the previous two designs, which they get to keep forever and hold in pride of place at their Wellington offices.

“The question is can they claim all three, will another printer join them in the elite status of holding two trophy designs or will we have an inaugural winner?”

Ms Archibald hopes to be able to unveil the new design and marketing slogan for this year’s Awards, by the end of March.

Meanwhile, all winning entries will again be afforded premium display at Foodtech Packtech, the largest national trade event for the New Zealand food, beverage, packaging and manufacturing industries.

Being held at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland on September 23-25, the event is expected to attract over 3000 visitors.

“Providing a professional and comprehensive sales and marketing platform, Foodtech Packtech enables industry buyers, suppliers and educators to come together, share ideas and develop business relationships,” continues Ms Archibald.

“This event provides an excellent opportunity for winning work -- particularly anyone involved in the food packaging and labelling sector -- to reach a large buyer market.”
